Open Question: Looking for some TEXTILE design answers-kids bedding and wall art?I am a graphic designer with almost no experience in textile design and development. However, I have recently started designing a line of kids bedding and wall decor and I am getting really stuck in the next steps involved to see this whole project come alive. I was really hoping you can help answer some of my questions and I will truly appreciate your help. If you don;t mind I will format my questions below and maybe you can help dissipate some of my concerns. 1) Samples- I want to get samples made of my designs-I want to do wall art and kids bedding- so I need- Someone who will digitally print of fabric, someone who will cut and sew, as well. Is there a place in Philadelphia (or other places) that you can recommend that would do these things? Especially. for sampling? I know that US is probably very expensive to do production here, but for samples I think it might be best if I get it done locally so I can have immediate access to it. 2) I wanted to print my designs on canvas for the wall art and then have them stretched on wooden stretchers. I again wanted to know if you know anyone who does this locally, and is this canvas 100% cotton, or is it some other material that looks like canvas? 3) Another big question here is how do I market this? I know this is probably not your area of interest but I was just wondering if trade shows etc is the only way to go. I wanted to start really small for now, and participating in trade shows might not be the ideal situation for me. How about local stores in the city? 4) Also, is the kids bedding industry a lucrative business? At the end of the day, I do want to make a profit, and I know there's a lot of competition out there. However, I still want to get a share of the pie. :) What do you think is the industry trend for kids bedding? Is it completely saturated or is there room for newcomers? 5) I also thought of maybe selling my designs to companies. How do I go about that route if at all? Is there `money' in that at all? Anyone else have this set and have the same problem? Open Question: Do they make sofas with double wide seats for two people to lay out and lounge together?I was just wondering, because it'd be nice to lounge around on the couch with my wife but we're both too big for that.
