Open Question: Help with decorating my bedroom?I'm moving to a rental home and my mum is going to give me the master bedroom (don't ask why). It has an ensuite and a large walk in wardrobe. I love it but it has this wall painted bright red and I hate it. I want to get rid of it but not do any damage to the actual wall (it is a rental home). Also, I want to decorate my ensuite a beach theme, and turn my walk in wardrobe into a victorian style dressing room. Any tips?? I am going to be covering the entire oak ornament with a gloss varnish once finished. Would it be smarter to use wood or superglue or to just trust the adhesive? I live in a mint green ugly 1959 style home (ranch) and we are doing a kitchen remodel on the cheap. Under the dirty ugly carpet that MUST come up, we have stained ugly hardwoods that have been sanded as much as they can be sanded. My husband wants to spend money on an engineered floor, but we don't have it in the budget at this time. I want things to look nice, so I'm trying to convince him that painting the diningroom floor would be good idea. Maybe kitchen too if we can remove the layers of old flooring enough to make it all one level surface. He is of the opinion that painted floors only look good in farmhouses. I figure we are gong to be tearing it out anyway in the longrun so what could it hurt to paint it. My question is, do you think a painted floor would be all that bad in a non-farmhouse home? We are sort of modern, eclectic. Due to our budget constraints the cabinets will be painted white instead of us buying new wood ones.
