Open Question: I have a large underground cistern that no longer retains water. Can it be turned into a wine cellar? It is roughly 10 feet by 5 feet in area, by 8 feet deep. It is all concrete. Seems to me I might dig down along the side and create a doorway, clean out the inside and have a wine cellar, or at least a storm shelter. Is this possible? Open Question: How do I go about getting a quote from a builder with no proper drawn up plans?I have picked a house plan that I like but it's not exactly what I want. I want to know how much it would cost to get a builder to build a modified version of it as the actual plan is through one of the big home builders like Metricon and Henley etc... So the quote would be for comparison to see if it's cheaper just to get the plan built by the original builder or to have my own plans drawn up and go through a builder. From proples experiences, is it cheaper to get homes built through Metricon, Henley etc... I have never built a house before so this is all new to me.
