Open Question: how much do new windows typically run?i was looking to replace my old single pane windows with more energy efficient windows and i was wondering how much it typically costs including installation. i only have 10 small to medium size windows.nothing fancy. Since the wall was visible from the street, the city required that I make it decorative, so the contractor stuccoed the outside of the wall. It looked nice when it was installed and was flat, other than the "swirls" that were decorative. Now however there are hairline cracks in the stucco, and after the recent California rain storms, I can now see the faint outlines of the bricks underneath the stucco, so it looks like the brick joints, or mortar is "Photographing" through the stucco. I don't like how this looks, as it used to look all nice a pretty, but my question is how normal is this? Is it just something that happens over time, or did the contractor do something wrong? I've googled this, and I suspect that the contractor may not have put in a base layer, but I'm not a construction guy so I'm not sure. Should I be concerned? I don't have the money to have someone repair it, will it start to fall off soon? Could it be with all the rain that it just needs to dry out? Should I go after the contractor who did the job? Any advice would be appreciated!
