Open Question: Painting window-sills and posts of old house - red lead? and more... Open Question: Painting window-sills and posts of old house - red lead?Hi, I have a house built in 1927. The window sills and verandah posts plus entry way need repainting. Using a heat gun, I removed most of the surface paint with no problem, but the exposed wood seemed to have a sticky, red brown residue, which I think is red lead primer. I do not have the money to get a professional in to remove it completely, so I don't think I can go back to raw wood. I am not sure whether to use paint stripper, or to just paint over. If I paint over, what sort of paint is needed? Open Question: Best way to rearrange my room(Quite a couple of ?'s)?Its about a 12 x 13 rectangle room, give or take a few inches. I also REALLY like to sew and do crafts. I would like to move this into my room so the items/supplies won't get peed on(Leaky cat >_<) or get dog hair all over them. My dogs and cats are not allowed in there in the first place. I will need a table(SUGGESTIONS PLEASE) and my bed is a twin sized. I'm going to see if i can't maybe switch it out with the queen one in the guest room. Currently it should be declared a federal disaster! And it is being cleaned up with a LOT of stuff going to the Goodwill. I also have 2 dressers, one about 5 x 4 and one thats a 4 x 5. Now those dressers are my guessing's. they are all Height by Length. I would also like some room organization and keeping it clean tips. I said to my self- new year, NEW ME! I also have lots of trophies and special item that I will have white shelves lining my room (they'll be more towards the ceiling). My room is a real light powdery-ish pink. Kind of Baby Pink.
