So Ive decided to redecorate my bedroom like a room in a beach house would be. I went to some people with knowledge in decorating, and frankly, i laughed out loud at their ideas. They all suggested tacky things like leis, flower murals, etc. One of them actually advised me to cut a beach umbrella in half and put it over my headboard as a canopy-type thing. I want something that is light, breezy, and not too overpowered...put simply, I want to feel like my bedroom looks out over the oceanfront. However, when I stay at beach houses, the oceanfront rooms usually aren't decorated at all, because that distracts from the real focal point- the beach out the window. Instead of water, my bedroom features a lovely view of my neighbor's garage. How can I get that oceanfront feeling without the ocean? Open Question: I'm decorating my car in "Shirley Temple" theme. Do they make Shirley Temple lic. plates? key chains? anything? Ideas or a place to go, please let me know. Thank you! Open Question: HELP - painter used Gloss instead of Matt paint - how do we fix it?We are having our house redone. Just had the dining room and kitchen walls replastered and the painter we hired used gloss as an undercoat instead of matt emulsion. The main painter came and caught the problem before the apprentice painted any other rooms and has said tomorrow he will sand of the worst bits of the gloss and then repaint with matt. He assures me this will be fine but I would love a second opinion before he starts as I want the best job done. Can anyone else advise me what they would do to get rid of gloss paint? I just want a nice matt finish!!!!!!!!!
