Open Question: Wallpaper Suggestions!?

RIGHT, my dear interior designer friends, i have a questions... I am going to be renewing my room soon and I'm going to be having white furniture with throw overs on it, and I'm going to be having a feature wall. I would like the feature wall to be a wallpaper one and it will be a blue colour with intricate gold Japanese patterns like birds and branches and flowers all over it. Please may you suggest a wallpaper and attach a link? And ideas for the rest of the wall colours (the walls will match the throw overs) Thank you veryyyy much, if answered, I will answer your questions and award 10 points! :) xxx

Open Question: should i have to pay for remodeling?

i live in an apartment building and my landlord is going to remodel the whole unit and she sent a letter stating that the apartments are going to be gutted out to make them more energy efficient also updated so everything in the apartments would be new like floor sinks cabinets doors etcalso rewiringf the electric and removing copper ect to make it energy efficent my problem is that at the end of the letter she said we have to pay for any damages that we caused i think that she is trying to make us help pay for the remodeling that she wants. i dont think that i should have to pay for damages if everything is going to be ripped out of the apartment any way. also i dont want her to add damages to the bill that i didnt do. there were damages already befor i moved in and she has the list. also they are not the greatest apartments cause when you call her to get somthing fixed they do a half ass job for ex. i had to get my bathroom floor redone because there was water leaking through the walls to my down stairs and she said it was my fault because my kids splashed to much water but in the long run the man who fixed it said that it was a pipe leaking that caused the damage with her knowing that she said if i have water damage again i would have to pay for it but the man did a half ass job and while he was fixing it water was still leaking when he put up new dry wall and i still have water spots on my ceiling and i know the damage wasnt from me or my children because we couldnt use the bathroom for a week. i dont have a problem paying cause my house shouldnt have much damages. i just dont want to pay for the remodeling if it was her choice to have everything ripped out

Open Question: How to match stain when replacing an interior home door?

So I have an interior door in my home that needs to be replaced and I am wondering what the best approach is for trying to match the stain. The bad door seems to be a pretty cheap door (no solid wood or anything) and has the similar color to golden oak. I am thinking about trying to just buy a replacement door from Lowes or Home Depot and do the staining myself, but not sure at all how to even approach matching the stain. Thoughts or other recommendations for this project?

Open Question: What Is This, Stone, Mud and Era?

This is driving me mental! Hard to google something in which one does not know what they are looking for =/ http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/wall%20texture.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/cracks%20in%20wall.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/floor%20pillars%20and%20structure.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/pillars.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/roof_floor.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/texture.jpg http://jonzin.enmesharra.com/Images/stone%20or%20brick.jpg I need to know what era this monastery would have been in and more importantly, what is the structure made of? I'm after that texture of walls including all the cracks of age, also the floors. The floors appear to be dirty then turn to large pieces of flat stone. I don't know if I should be asking what era this would be or culture would have made such a building. I have seen some older homes in Italy that still have this texture of walls (at least in the outside of the home, but they also have some red brick within the wall as well (not what I'm looking for). Please can you tell me what is making the texture of these walls? What the floor is made of? And what part of the world I might find such churches, monasteries etc. made as such? Just out of curiosity, if I were ever to become rich, would it be possible to recreate such a home in the fashion of the pictures provided? Would such material be safe? Or is there a way to imitate such a texture with modern day devices and techniques?

Open Question: Are floors a bad idea for the upstairs of the house?

My husband wants to take out the carpets upstairs and replace them with floors. While I love floors more than carpets I think the floors will make the house very noisy when people walk on them. I think there will be less walking sound with carpet. He wants to put those area small rugs under the bed, but we have very small rooms and I think it will look silly. Is it true that floors make the upstairs of a house noisy? Is it a good idea or a bad idea? Does it make it easier for the house to be sold?
