We feel that the spray foam will help with the musky smell of the basement, because the insulation in there now is that pink stuff and its pretty old. We have had 3 quotes done, $2160.00, $1600.00 and $1760.00. The first one uses Walltite and is registered with Foam Masters Canada, the only company in Manitoba, Canada that is registered with them. The second one, I am not completely sure at this point what type of insulation they are providing. I forgot to ask when I spoke with him. The third is using a soy based product. They are all offering the R-value of 21 and all for 476 sq/ft to be sprayed. (we only have 3 walls need to be done, we live in a side by side) Does it make a difference if its soy based or Walltite? Is there anything else I should be asking before agreeing to a contractor? Open Question: How can I cover a small ceiling over a staircase?I have a small ceiling over a circled staircase that is far to high to reach. I need to do some minor crack repairs on it but I am at a disadvantage to reach it. So I was wanting to simply cover it with something like stucco or a pop corn type ceiling but I don't really like the hard points on my ceiling. What are some other alternatives or suggestions that will work. I've seen ceilings with circled lines that looked good. The area of the ceiling is about 3ft x 5ft.
