Open Question: What types of flooring should I consider buying?

I have old dingy carpet and I would like to put down new flooring. I am wondering what type should I consider? This will be in high traffic ares front my front door to the living room, this is one big open space. There is a washer and dryer closet there and the current carpet is in front of that as well, it has stains on it from bleach. I don't have any children but I do have 2 cats. The house is a townhouse and it has a fireplace in the living room. I hope this will be enough to give me some answers. I am considering, new carpet, laminate, or hardwood if it is in my budget.

Open Question: Have you used Thermalite paint/plaster ?

I recently seen an ad on Tv about this paint called Thermalite, they also do a wall plaster, which is supposed to insulate the room. My parents are about to do up our house and were wondering if this paint/plaster is any good? Has anyone used it or do you know anything about it. (ie. whether it works or not etc.) Thanks

Open Question: Does anyone know if Stick and Go tiles really work, esp in bathrooms?

I'm moving into an apartment with pink tiling in the bathroom. I really hate pink and would like an inexpensive way to cover up the tiles. I know you can paint or panel it, but this would take a lot of work for my dad, who is a painter but also owns the building. I wanted something easy and this looks perfect but not sure if they're legit. The site claims they are water and steam resistant, which is good because they would be going in the bathroom. I don't want something that's just going to be falling/peeling off after a hot shower. The reviews on their site are all, naturally, good reviews, so I was hoping someone out there has used them in their own bathroom with good results. Thanks a lot! http://www.stickandgo.com/index.php5?action=about

Open Question: What Wiring Should I Include in My Basement Remodel?

We are remodeling and finishing our basement. It will likely be used as a family room / rec room / media room. We will have a flat screen TV and appropriate audio, plus computer. What wiring and cabling would you recommend I install for immediate use, and what should I install in addition to that, even if it stays unused for several years?
