How is durability of compressed wood Open Question: Information about extending my house?Hi I would like to pick the brains of people living in England. We are thinking about extending our townhouse i.e. going up a floor, however we have no idea how to go about this, or even where to start. Who do you contact first? we really want an idea of how much it is going to cost, the likelyhood of it being approved and finally if required how much it would cost to do our house and our neighbours the same if that is the only way to get permission. Do we contact builders? architect's, the council... really want to spend the minimum of money to begin with! Thank you The house was built in 2007. Is a mid terrace townhouse (so no garden). I have spoken to both our neighbours, neither of which have any objections and have stated "anything to stop you two from having to move!!"
