Open Question: 1950's house wiring color codes? and more... Open Question: 1950's house wiring color codes?I am adding a plug to an existing switch (plenty of amp room on the circuit, 15 amp circuit currently serving 10 amps) I intend to put in a CGFI unit and I want to replace the original switch while im at it. I have a black, a white, and a red. black SHOULD equal load, white SHOULD equal the neutral/return, but RED has me crossed up. Is that the ground, or is it a jumper to the switched ceiling light? improving this doesnt justify the rates of an electrician, since I am versed in 1985 and later electric codes. but in this case....Im lost in the 50s tonight. Lil help? Open Question: Is it possible to use a quilt as a duvet insert?I saw this duvet online that I'm interested in purchasing. The only problem is, it's only a duvet cover and I don't have a duvet insert or comforter, just a quilt. I'm wondering if my quilt will suffice as a duvet insert? Any help is greatly appreciated! Open Question: what kind of wood is okay to imerse in water?Open Question: Need help finding a duvet cover that matches my style and budget.?I currently have mis matched bedding... we live in an apartment that we have never painted (don't plan on painting) -white walls, all of our bedroom furniture is a dark brown, http://www.ufw.com/product.php?product=343PK6&category=bedroom_sets (no mirror-not that that part matters) and today i bought both chocolate brown and off white (cream) coloured sheets. (needed some for spare bed, and air mattress as guests will be staying here soon). after wards i'd like to change up my own bedding, and wouldn't mind including the sheets i already bought. so i would just need a cool duvet cover. I'm 21 and married, so i would like something young and cool, but not feminine. I really like modern design, and earthy tones. any suggestions. and also if we were to move and or paint. what colours would you reccomend? haha you have no idea how much i hate shopping. if i could afford it i would hire a designer for my wardrobe, and my apartment. i'm no good at picking things out. i know what i like when i see it. but don't have the paitience to sort through all the crap in the first place.
