Open Question: Does peeling paint have to be repainted to qualify for FHA? and more... Open Question: Does peeling paint have to be repainted to qualify for FHA?My boyfriend and I are buying a foreclosed house. It still needs to be inspected by FHA but I know that peeling paint will need to be repaired. My question is: does it need to be scraped and repainted or can we just scrap off the peeling parts? The problem is that we are experiencing this ridiculous snow storm so there is no way we can paint our front porch in 30 degree snowy weather in time for closing. Thanks! Open Question: is this duck egg blue?im redecorating my living room and am looking for a duck egg blue colour without having to pay a fortune for it to be mixed specially. i have found a colour that dulux do called blue reflection and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to have a look and give me their opinion on this colour. it will be accompanied with a mellow mocha colour and some chocolate brown accents around the room. thanks Open Question: How to soundproof ceiling?I have an old house and upstairs apartment has the most beautiful original hardwood floor which I don't want to cover up with carpets with staples. But it is too noisy for downstairs apartment when people walk around upstairs. I did place many area rugs, but still it is not working well. What would be the best for this situation? My ideas are... 1. blow insulation into the space between upstairs and downstairs. about 8 inches high hollow space. I figured I can blow insulation from outside. least work and inexpensive. But this would do anything for soundproofing besides reducing the heating cost? 2. Insulation (soundproofing foams) and sheetrock for each bedroom downstairs. Most work and expensive. Is it worth doing this? 3. New thick area rugs for upstairs...this isn't cheap either! Any advice? any idea? Please help... Open Question: What kind of decorations can I buy that would match my slate/iron tables?I don't really know the actual style name my taste is, but I really like the slate/iron look. I bought black leather couches, and slate/iron end tables. I even painted the room a sage color. Now...I don'tt know where to buy items to match/fit in with that decor. I know Indian thingswouldn'tt match, that obvious, but I am clueless on wall art, type of drapes, nickknackss.. Any help?
