Open Question: Happy/Kawaii bedroom paint styles? and more... Open Question: Happy/Kawaii bedroom paint styles?I'm a 16 year old male and I've come to the conclusion that my room gives off an unhappy aura. Life seems boring lately my room is the place I spent thr most time I so I think it should male me happy. Right now I have a grey-blue color paint scheme. I've been listening to a lot of Japanese music lately and it makes me happy and their kawaii "cute" culture fascinates me. I want a bright room that makes me smile when I look around. I was thinking a bright color and a mural painted on one wall by me and my friend. Yellow could work idk.. Any ideas would be appreciated. If it helps, I have black bed, dresser, etc. as well as curtains but those could be changed. THANKS ^_^ Open Question: What color to paint bathroom, keeping this in mind?We have a white tub, toilet, sink that is under-mounted to a black Granite counter top. The floor and shower have beige/sand color tile. The hallway and living room leading to the bathroom are a darker blue grey color. Then my dinning room and kitchen are carmel. (We painted the living room and kitchen those colors because we have a stone fire place that has grey blue stones with a few orange brown stones.) I'm thinking a yellow or beige color in the bathroom might make it plain and washed out. So I was thinking about going with a light blue or green. Should I go with a blue so that the living room and bathroom kinda blend together or go with a green to give it a different contrast? (It's a small bathroom so I will only be using light, but not to bright colors.) If I paint it green, do you think the colors going to be out of place? Or should I just go with a light color(beige) to match the kitchens colors? I know it's a lot of details but I don't want a house full of different colors that don't go together since it's a smaller home and the rooms are close together. Thanks for any opinions. I think white makes a bathroom feel cold. (That's what we had and thats why were re-did the whole thing.) Open Question: What is the best material for kitchen countertops?I am looking for a balance between looks, low maintenance, and price. I've heard that natural stone like granite is very high maintenance, and a little pricey. I was considering a synthetic like silestone or corian. I welcome all suggestions and ideas on this topic. I want to get new countertops soon, but I am afraid of spending a lot of money and not being happy with the result. Thank you. Open Question: What backyard modifications could I make?My friend who loves nature decided to encase her self around ivory plants so that she would become a plant herself. She is fully encased now and is loving being a plant. I have decided that since she wants to be a plant, she should be planted outside in my backyard. What would be some good ways to show off an ivy plant to make my backyard look better but also get her the nutrients she needs to be a healthy plant? Open Question: Has Anyone Really tried to put a home on the floor of the ocean? There was the 1960's movie "Hello Down There" & there was that massive headquaters for SMIRSCH? in Janes Bond, & there have been others In the Movies. But What about in Reality!? Open Question: laminate vs. real wood flooring? We have had a flood in the house and now at the stage where the floors need replacing. It is for a utility room, hallway (from front door) and kitchen. I obviously want something that is easy to clean with having kids and a dog and am undecided whether to have real wood flooring or laminate. (cost isn't an issue) i just don't know which is more suitable/hard wearing etc etc. Any opinions or personal experience would be greatly received Many thanks Open Question: How would you break down a 25lb pound bag of tile mortar? The bag says use 1 gallon to mix all I don't want to mix it all so how would I use some of it but get the right amount of water in it?
