The dining room has knotty pine wood paneling on the wall (which I am planning to keep) and hardwood floors. The kitchen does not have the paneling or hardwood floors. I plan to complete the kitchen floor with a ceramic tile that matches very well with the hardwood floor in the dining area. The cabinets will also be a like an oak color. My question is what will be a good color to paint the wall in the kitchen that goes well with the knotty pine paneling in the dining area? I thought about using a color in the red family but I am not sure if that will look well with the cabinets. Any suggestions, ideas or photos you have will be greatly appreciated.
