It's an old farmhouse, complete with things like stables/an area for horses to run, a large 5 acre yard, and a small barn. We aren't planning on using these things for their original purposes, so I was wondering if anyone had ideas about what we should do - tearing them down is NOT an option. I'm looking for creative, innovative ideas. Thanks! Open Question: Its shaped like a keg, bigger at the top and smaller at the bottom. The side has a overlapping seam and held i?Its shaped like a keg, bigger at the top and smaller at the bottom. The side has a overlapping seam and held in place with 33 large rivets and soldered. The top and bottom are rolled and soldered. The top lid has the Standard two openings and the smaller opening has a wing nut valve and fitting for a small tube 1/8-1/4 DAI. On top there is a soldered round plate with "3052461 empty at once and return to C.O. co Richmond, cal net gallons" stamp into it. Its about 52-55 gal. size. It looks like its made from steel, approx. 1/16-1/8 (I do not think is stainless), it have aged but not rusted but for a few spots that where on the ground. The top lid was painted red at one time. I was coming home from work and saw it between the road and the Green river with a few black berry vines over it. It in my back yard and I would like to find out what is was used for. Could it have been tried to replace wooden kegs at one time for whale or seal oil. Off loaded and refined here in Seattle and the empty kegs ship down to calif. for the next season or was it used for heating oil around homes? Open Question: which colour would be best?Hello everyone, we're doing abit of a shuffle in our room so my younger sister and i are going to be sharing a room together. we have no idea what to paint our room, we DEFINITELY don't want plain girly pink, we want to infuse different colours to make a pretty outcome...so any suggestions? Open Question: Green Marble for kitchen counter tops?We want Green Marble Tiles (12"x12") for our kitchen counter tops. I have done some experimenting, and it seems that ANYTHING acidy, like lemon juice, grapefruit juice, tomato juice, spaghetti sauce, salsa, vinegar, etc, will cause an "etched" bleach-like stain on the marble, sometimes within just a few minutes. This cannot be removed or buffed off "easily". We love the color and the look of the marble and want to use it badly, but with THAT problem it's not very feasible. Does anyone know if anything can be coated on the marble to prevent the staining in the first place, or how to "easily" remove it when it does occur? Thanks.
