Open Question: How can I spice up my bedroom walls?

My walls in my bedroom are white. I think they're really boring, but my parents won't let me paint them a fun color like purple or blue or anything. How can I spice them up? I'm not a big fan of posters. I may be allowed to paint like, small designs, just not a full solid color other than white. Any ideas? Thanks :)

Open Question: How can I take this chair apart?

Okay sorry, this is hard to explain so I'll do my best... I removed the seat of the chair no problem but I cannot figure out how to get the back off. There are no visible screws on the back to hold it to the frame. http://s576.photobucket.com/albums/ss209/ladygish/?action=view¤t=1-1.jpg The backs were clearly assembled into one piece *before* being put on the chair frame because the decorative brads (which I've removed) continue under the bars of the frame. Each bar has 2 "connection points" that I can't tell what they are. There appears to be a washer along with what I assume is a screw. http://s576.photobucket.com/albums/ss209/ladygish/?action=view¤t=2.jpg I removed the brads just to check, but I still can't get to whatever is holding the backs on. The brads only hold a piece of cardboard covered in vinyl to the back. This is a kind of small picture, but this looks almost identical to my frame. (Don't know if it's helpful.) http://www.barstoolsandchairs.com/50sdinerchair-frame.aspx So how do I take this thing apart? The vinyl is cracked very badly and needs to be replaced. Also, What is the name for the little feet on the chair legs and how do I remove these: http://s576.photobucket.com/albums/ss209/ladygish/?action=view¤t=3.jpg Two of the chairs have plastic caps on the feet and two have these things. I'd like them to all match. Thanks so much and 10 points for the best answer!! And your answer, Adolph, is why idiots shouldn't attempt to answer questions. Since you clearly don't know the answer either, don't waste my time.

Open Question: Has anyone heard that the newer carpets being sold now have formaldehyde in them? Is this...?

...true? Isn't it harmful to humans and/or pets? Can someone give me an 'accurate' report on whether this is true, please? We are planning on putting carpet in my daughters bedroom and I was just told this about the carpets last night by a friend but she didn't know anymore info about it. I thought I remembered hearing something a while back but not sure if it was about carpet. Please help as my fiance wants carpet in my daughters room and I don't, especially if this is true, but I need government documented proof before anyone will believe me.

Open Question: so i just panted my room and it looks horrible! HELP ME?

so i told my parents that when i wanted to redo my room, i wanted to paint it a dark red. my mom was too lazy to go and buy some so i just found an old can of red paint and put it in my room. when i got home from school, my dad has painted the whole room but it turned out like burgundy which is Wayy too purple of a color. and now i have no idea what to do. i dont know if i should go and buy a lighter color, or not. because this paint fail has sorta changed my mind. now, i dont think i want a red at all. should i get another color?? btw, all my furniture is dark brown/black.
