Open Question: Ideas for redecorating bedroom!?

I got a new carpet recently which is a purlpe-lilac colour and the walls are a white-tinted purple. It looks really nice and the colours go well but I want it to be more colourful and interesting with more personality. I can't really buy any furniture and I definitely don't want it all lilac or something like that because it would be a bit young. I'm just wondering what I could do, I was thinking of a big college or mural or something to brighten it up but I really don't no. Any ideas? (I'm 14 btw)

Open Question: Is there a fireplace that is designed to burn either wood or gas?

I am looking for an insert that could burn both wood and gas. Currently I have a lot of wood on my property, since I have made quite a few landscape projects. Selling it has been more than disappointing and instead of letting it rot, I would like to use it. However; once it all goes (a few years I guess), I do not want to have to buy it. So at that point I would enjoy the gas option. Are you aware of a specific fireplace insert that can do both? If so, can you direct me in the right direction? Thanks Thanks Shelbi for the info. However; if I understand your answer right, you are using a gas fireplace to burn wood and not using a log lighter in a wood fireplace. If this is the case, from the little I know about fireplaces, this is very dangerous. I have added this link to another trail of Q&A on that topic. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuOZGcDel_28xA7aXl4VH3IjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20061103213401AAuLxzH Dave

Open Question: Hang curtains without rod?

Hello all! I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have just recently moved into a new apartment & when I attempted to hang drapes, right where I needed to hang the hook to support the drapery rod on about 1/2 inch into the wall there is a metal panel. I just can't seem to find any way at all to hang these drapes!!! They are 2 taffeta insulated panels, because there are 2 windows side by side. So they're not heavy but they're not light either. The rod I bought extends to 84 in. Does anyone have ANY solution??? Thanks so much in advance!

Open Question: Can I resurface wrapped kitchen cabinets?

I have what i believe is called a vinyl wrap kitchen. It was put in by previous owners approx 10 years ago and it is white. Some of the cupboard doors are now "peeling". I would like to know if this vinyl wrap can be replaced, or if the vinyl wrap can be completely removed from the cupboard doors which could then be re-newed/reused in some way i.e. possibly paint them white?

Open Question: Can I use a water based Polyurethane to seal my kitchen cabinets?

Hello All, We are remodeling our kitchen and I bought some new oak cabinets to replace some rotting ones. We are painted them white. (Sanded, 2 coats of KILZ2 latex primer and 2 coats of "Soft White" Flat latex paint) My question is, can I seal the cabinets with a polyurethane to protect them? i have heard about the yellowing issue, but they make non-yellowing polyurethane. so that is not an issue
