Right now my kitchen is orange and my living room is yellow. I read that yellow walls cause anxiety. Any ideas?

Open Question: What colors would go well in this room?

I recently painted my bedroom a dark purple color, pretty much exactly like the number 1 swath of the "violets" in this color wheel: http://www.malanenewman.com/images/colorwheel_browsersafe.gif The trim in the room is white, and the floors are a medium colored hardwood. What colors would go well for bedding, curtains, or a rug?? The only colors I don't want to use are light pinks and purples. The room can't be too out-rightly girly. Haha. Thanks in advance.

I'm wondering where you have found the best deals on mattresses...furniture stores, local "just" mattress stores, SAMS/COSTCO...or maybe online...I'm in the market for a new one and need some advice. THANKS!! Thanks to the answer from Canada...BUT...I failed to mention I live in GA, USA...that might have been something useful for me to include the first time!

Open Question: How can I make my bedroom feel cozier?

I share my room with my thirteen year old sister. She's a slob and her side of the room is NEVER clean, but my half is always as tidy as can be. I'd really like to make my half more of a cozy getaway that just a room like it is now. I'm not allowed to paint, because we have wood panels on the walls and I can't do anything to the floor because we have carpet. Can you think of anything I could to do give my side of the room a sort of cozy feel?

Open Question: Should I hire a wedding decorator?

I found someone who does a nice job for $450. Is this a good deal? I also thought by the time I bought everything myself it would probably add up to the 450, wouldn't look as nice, and I'd be stuck with a crap load of wedding decor. So which is best? To hire or not to hire?

Open Question: Why do vanities use clear light bulbs?

Why do vanities often use clear light bulbs as opposed to frosted ones? Frosted light bulbs are supposed to give the illusion of giving off more light, so what is the advantage of using clear bulbs?
