Open Question: Painting a two toned room?SO, i am trying to plan for painting our future baby room 2 toned with a chair rail. for a baby boy, it will be pale blue and chocolate brown and for a baby girl it will be pale purple and chocolate brown. the top will be the lighter color and the bottom will be the darker color. the room is set up like this: 3 big walls which will have the chair rail and be 2 toned. the 4th wall has the door and a set of double closet doors, so there is not going to be too much wall space to be painted there...since we are leaving the closet doors white. Question is....would it look okay to paint that little bit of wall space surrounding the doors with just one solid color? Say the lighter of the 2 colors. We had a leather couch at home already, and after getting the table home, the two leathers don't match. The table is much darker than the couch. Is this tacky??
