Open Question: re-decorating living room...?

I asked this a few days ago, but would like more input as I have added more pictures to my photobucket album. Basically, I don't like the way my living room looks...it's too dull and boring. I am open to any ideas and suggestions. Don't be afraid to tell me that some item(s) have to go. Things I won't do are: 1-paint (I like the walls as they are) and 2-put in new carpet (it is new). Other than that, I'm open to just about anything, but really all I'm looking for is a way to make the room more interesting. Suggestions I've heard so far have been: *lose the stand under the tv (i'd like to replace it, perhaps with the one in my P.B. album?) *add plants (please make suggestions on types of plants) *add new curtains (I'm planning on doing a dark maroon to match the trim on the countertop *someone suggested removing some items as one corner was too cluttery (I really like the idea). *I would like to get a couple of pillows for the loveseat and maybe one for my papasan chair (perhaps something with the maroon to match the curtains I plan on adding?? I have a tan blanket that always stays on the loveseat, in my opinion it matches the room fairly well. Someone also suggested getting a rug for the room that incorporated maroon, but I'm not sure where to put it based on the way my room is arranged at the present time, so if you have suggestions on how to re-arrange I'm certainly open to any of that. note: As you can see from the pictures, I have a lot of mis-matched wood furniture -some dark wood and some light, and mostly earthy tones such as browns, tans, etc. the only real colors are the little bit of maroon on the counters and the maroon valances which have to go! The loveseat and glider rocker both have a pale blue color which matches the blue already in my adjacent kitchen, so perhaps that could factor in (not sure how I like the combination of maroon and blue though). So, basically let me know how you would improve my space. I Also,If someone would be willing to send an e-mail my way to better communicate back and forth on the topic, that would be greatly appreciated. link to pictures of room, furniture and potential replacement for tv stand. http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p278/georgew84/trailer/

ok, so im hanging different things in my room. on each side of my window i have 2 pictures and the on the left side i have an extra small frame with an L in the middle. my question is, i wanted to get another for the right side, so should i get an F for my last name? or should i get a J for Jesus, since i have turned my life over to christ. Please, no rude comments, only ur opinion if i should get the F and i would have my initials or a J for Jesus. thanks

Open Question: How do I create a photography inspired room?

I really love photography. And, I want to make my room look like a photographer's room. I think I am going to put in some mirrors, put up some pictures I have cut out of magazines, but I'm not really sure what else? Anyone know of any cool stores for my idea? Any specific peices of furniture I could get? Any creative ideas! Like things I could do to my wall, ways to paint my room, furniture, etc. Also, I'm a teenager, so the furniture doesn't have to be too conservative, actually, no ideas at all have to be conservative. Thank you in advance.

Open Question: Where can I buy new "antique looking" furniture?

My wife and I own a lot of antique pieces, and we have to have them all reworked from time to time. We love the way the furniture looks, but hate the hassle of getting things fixed. We thought there was probably a place to buy new furniture with the antique look and it would be somewhat maintenance free. Any suggestions?

Open Question: someone made my life difficult by painting the toilet bowl fixtures. Does anyone know how to remove paint?

paint is chipping away and I dont want to spend 30 minutes digging the paint off and damaging the metal. It's not the porcelain part. It's the metal piece in the back
