Open Question: Redecorating. Advice on matching colors?

So, I'll start off by saying I'm eighteen and female. So keep that in mind please. The floors and wood border are all a cherry like medium-dark wood, while my furniture is a lighter shade (Closer to bleached birch). It's weird but because of the coloring of the floor and how it's mixed, it matches well enough. Well, I wanted to paint my room beige, because I didn't want it too bright like white - which is also really plain, but didn't want anything too drastic. It turned out to be more of a yellowy than in the sample - It's called "Dessert Floor". So my question is: Colors that will go with both the dark and light shades of the wood, as well as the yellowy walls. For curtains, rugs and comforters. Thanks :)

Open Question: Could you help me find a bedspread? :)?

I am redoing my room. I'm almost 16 so I want something more mature and modern. I want a black and white pattern and one other color in it. I don't really care what color. My favorites are lime green, pink, and purple. Thank you! I don't have any furniture right now. I am getting rid of everything and starting new.
