The room has 3 cotton candy pink walls and one is a darker pink. I painted it when I was in 5th grade and now I think it's too childish. I wanted to put some posters up of Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball, and others like that. I currently have a bulletin board with pictures on it, and a little section of my wall is dedicated to my cheer leading pictures too. The only other things i have on my wall is some roses, and a silver star and a red heart which both have my name on them. Our bed covers are white with multicolored polka dots, which I also think is childish. So what I wanted to do was have the pink walls and incorporate black and white things such as lamps, posters, rugs, and covers etc. I saw cute covers at Target which were black with white dandelions but I'm probably not going to get them until my older sisters go to college in about a year (I hope). so that my little sister can go to their room. ANd I also have 3 shelves which have books, and little figurines things. I am hoping to move the computer into my room also. So basically I need ideas for decorations and how to make it less childish. Hahaha! THANKS! Open Question: how can i put my own pattern on a dinnerplate?Open Question: Do you know anyone who's bought NEW furniture from America's Thrift?America's Thrift stores are throughout the SE and I've seen a nice looking red couch (new) as part of the furniture line that they are now carrying. Has anyone bought new furniture from one of these stores, or do you know someone who has? I really need a new couch, but I'm scared to purchase from this discounted store without any reviews. Open Question: My mattress is too thick!?I just recently bought a new pillow top mattress and box spring. Only problem is, my bed is much taller then it was before. My fitted sheet fits fine over the mattress, but my loose sheet and comforter (they all came together) aren't long enough to completely cover the mattress. Argh! I already thought my sheets were designed for a bed like this. What kind of sheets should I be looking for? Open Question: I painted the trim in the house.I bumped it last night and the paint flicked off. should I have used emamel?I used sherwin williams Alkyd eg-shel paint . I am wishing i would have used sherwin williams eg-shel enamel. i wonder if it would have made a difference. I painted over latex paint. Do you think enamel would have stuck better ?
