I have hardwood floors (1 3/4 inch wide oak) on the first floor, including my kitchen. We recently built an addition onto the back of my house. It will be a great room directly off of my kitchen. I would like to have hardwood floors as I have children and pets. I can not find any hardwood 1 3/4 inch oak...size is narrower than anything I have seen in stores. Any suggestions? Can I use another type of hardwood right next to the 1 3/4 oak? If so, what kind? Thanks! Daisy Open Question: will black appliances clash with dark cherry chocolate cabinets? Like so dark they're almost black.?I love the dark cherry chocolate wood....going for a modern (and a bit rustic) look. I HATE stainless steel and white.....I just want to make sure that the colors would not clash. Also, what color granite would be recommended.
