Open Question: What is a good accent color for living room?

My whole house is White and I'm looking to paint one wall (wall behind TV) in my living room but not sure what color to choose. My couches are a sage green color and all my tables and tv stand are black. I don't really want to do something too crazy but am open to any and all suggestions.

Open Question: Should I paint this wall royal blue?

We just moved into a house with horrible paint colors.. hubby and I can not agree on paint colors what so ever.. we have a fireplace in the living room and I want to paint it royal blue as an accent wall and the other 3 walls a tan beige type color.. (it would be like red white and blue since the fireplace is brick and the mantle is white) which I think is kind of neat He hates it wants everyone room in the house to be the same color and every room in the house to have the ceilings to same color as the walls (STUPID I know!) We don't agree on colors he likes the peachy coraly white and I like more of a neutral color he also thinks the colors that are in there are just fine He also likes everything to look old.. like we are in 1930 even up to the 70s he doesn't like anything updated and modern... This is causing a big fight and I just want options and opinions of what other people think.. I am not dead set on the royal blue but I think it would look nice.. here is a picture of the wall.. excuse the mess we just moved in a week ago! http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/Kindra07/DSCI1119.jpg Thanks for the answer.. I agree its bold and I am a lil nervous that's why im not SET! I just think blue and beige go well together.. and I like the red white and blue thing.. I wasn't planning on leaving the dining room the rusty color.. I was going to do it a beige as well.. Also what darker shade would you recommend?
