Open Question: What is the proper "skirt" wide for a king size mattress with a conventional frame?Open Question: so i'm painting my bathroom................?and i have one can of paint that i used in a different part of the house for trim. its semi gloss and meant for doors and trim (but it says you can use it on walls) and i'm painting the bathroom so i got another can of paint in the same color but its for walls and it's satin. so my question is (since i have leftover trim paint) it okay to use my trim paint for the first coat and then my wall paint for the second coat even if there 2 different sheen's???? will it make a difference? thanks! this satin paint i bought says kitchen and bathrooms on the front and it says moisture resistant, but is it still better to use higher gloss??? Open Question: How should I paint my living room?I have a vaulted ceiling (12' in center) and I'm sticking to jungle colors. I have two shades of olive green/tan kind of colors.. a light and a dark. I'm trying to figure out which walls should get which colors. Should the tall walls get the lighter color or the short walls? Or should I just do one wall dark and the rest light. The ceiling will remain white. I don't want shorten my living room but I also don't want it to feel too distant. Open Question: Paint Contractor who did a screwed up job painting my house is suing me?In his written proposal he was to remove ALL "Tex Coat on soffits". Less than 1% was remove and now painted over with multiple coats of paint. I gave him the opportunity to fix it be he did not. After a heated discussion he and his crew walked off the job unfinished. I contacted the Franchiser and the referral service with my complaint. They tried to help the contractor and I come to an agreement but as of now, they say I should pay him because he improved the value of my house. To correct his screw up it will cost almost double to have another painter fix it and possible sand blasting which is very expensive. Now I am being threatened with a civil law suit for non payment. My detective work has uncovered that this company advertise on their PROPOSAL "Workman's Compensation Insurance" but I checked with the Cal. State Contractor's Board and show him exempt. I don't want to hassle this in court and I don't want to pay twice and excessively more. In general, ALL of the prep work, scraping, sanding, repair/fix window glaze was not done. This painter damaged my house and now he going to sue me? What should I do? Open Question: Is there a site that you can put in the measurements of your rooms?& it can help you design it?
