Open Question: Apartment dilemma!! please help!!? and more... Open Question: Apartment dilemma!! please help!!?Okay I am renting an apartment with 3 other people, and the total rent is 1500. We are going to split it up so that it is 375 per person. We are supposed to meet with the manager of the complex, so we can sign the lease for the apartment this Wednesday. However, we do not plan to move in until June 1st. My question is do you usually have to pay the rent and the deposit when you sign the lease even though you won't be moving in for a few months? And is the deposit equal to the amount of rent you have to pay?
