I know it will be a bit tight, but I am trying to decide if I have enough room to build an island. I have chocolate brown every other dish. So, big square with paisley, small square plate brown, paisley bowl, brown mug. (I haven't purchased a table, so that is a flex point for me.) On the walls, I am painting the cream plate color above a white chair rail and the gold color that is in the dishes underneath the chair rail. (Gold napkins I think in a similar color are in mind.) I have copper cookware in the kitchen, medium brown cabinets. How can I tie in the kitchen and living area, which are both visible from the dining area without using the exact same color scheme? Most of my furniture is chocolate brown (or I wish it to be). I have director chair bar stools that can use any of the colors on the website here http://www.pier1.com/Catalog/Furniture/tabid/519/List/0/CategoryID/157/level/a/ProductID/1648/ProductName/Solid-Director's-Chair-Covers/Default.aspx . I am partial to the blue, because it is also in the plates and maybe could be the kitchen color. Would it work with the copper pots though!? So many questions, please address all of them. 1. Color for living area, without using same colors? 2. Color for kitchen? 3. Does the blue add too much color to the dining area (since the bar is one wall of the dining area)?
