Open Question: Can my HOA force me to remove my hardwood flooring?

I bought my condo over 4 years ago and immediately installed hardwood flooring due to my partner's allergies. The HOA kicked up a stink as it was against their CC&Rs and demanded we remove them, though once we presented our evidence they moved on and the matter passed. Now we are looking to sell the place, and they have now demanded that we remove the hardwoods. Isn't there a length of time in which they should have forced us to remove them before we legally have the right to keep them? Our place is up for sale and we don't need this holding up a potential sale (and reducing the value of our unit too!) Thanks!!

Open Question: Paint has a sticky feeling to it?

Hi, a year ago I used a paint on a replica of mine, did a complete repaint (head, hand, boots etc) and it dried up real fast and good, not sticky, within a few hours. A year later, got another replica that I decided to do a slight repaint on (just the boots) and am having some problems. I repainted my replicas boots nearly 48 hours ago and they still have a sticky feeling to them! Did I do something different this time around or is there something wrong with the paint that I used? The paints I used were enamal (Testors), 1 was 1144 Gold and the other was 1147 Gl Black, they are about a year old (lid was on them, shook them about 5-6 times before opening and applying). Will the paint dry? I'm worried it might never dry - my replica is in my bedroom, on his back because on 1 boot I repainted the bottum and even it is still sticky! The room is kinda warm, no fan on or anything. I am going to add that although the paint on the boots is sticky, it doesn't rub off, I have placed my finger on the boots a few times and the paint has not come off, the paint has a sticky feeling to it though. I am unsure of how many coats I added although I think I painted the boots twice.

Open Question: Any room ideas for a teenager?

Okay, so for my birthday I get to redo my room. (: I have a budget of $500, so if you have suggestions, don't suggest a pricey place. I need themes, and then the actual furniture, please. I need a bed, nightstand, dresser (6-drawer w/ or w/o mirror), bedding, etc... Please help me with ideas for themes? (: I like: - Photography - Greens, light blues, yellowish greens, whites, etc... Pastel colors - Simple things - If you've ever heard the song "LA Song - Christian Kane", I LOVE that song and I was wondering if people have suggestions for themes like that maybe? (: I love it.

Open Question: How do I decorate a plastic beer cooler?

I was thinking about hand painting my beer cooler with my favorite team's logo on top, however I'm not sure if any type of paint would stick to it and not peel off. I know Krylon makes a spray paint that adheres to plastic, but I was looking for an option other than that so I could do some fine details. Any one have experience or and ideas to help?

Open Question: I have to install a new shower pan for a shower on the 1st floor? What is the best material for it?

I have heard of pvc liner, hot mop and cpe. Also heard that in the state of California, we are not supposed to install the hot mop kind. What is the truth? This is confusing and hard to figure out. Also, very expensive.

Open Question: Does anyone else think the 21st century remodeled store designs are annoying?

Here's an example - this is a shopping center near where I lived in the early-mid 90s. That before picture is hella cool (just how I remember it), and the new ones after they remodeled it in 2001 are typical modern looking with the multiple colors and heights. http://mognot.com/architecture/renovations/amriverplz/ Maybe it's just me being nostalgic since that's the way alot of places looked when I was a kid, but I think the old white look is better, it's simple and easy...and the 80s look lasted into 2000 so it was around for years. The current style almost looks cartoonish or something. INSIDE of places I've noticed the same thing, like the brown earth tones are very 21st century..and in the old days it was usually white with some squares or stripes or something.
