Open Question: How much paint would I need to paint the out side of my house?

Its a standard victorian terraced house. A bit like this - http://www.woosterstock.co.uk/v3/images/p/6579/Dowlas_Street_SE5_4521326414a29234fe2d4d_large.jpg Same size. The problem is its painted red and I want it cream or white. So is Masonry paint the same as internal where, meaning painting over red you would need a few coats? Does anyone know with a guess how many litres??

Open Question: silk paint not staying on?

hi please help! i have wallpapered my stair walls in embossed paper and stated painting one wall in (tropical forest) and noticed after two coats that it rubs off easily. i have painted another two coats on and it and after a little test of rubbing (not too hard) with a dry cloth it starts to come off and you can see the white of the paper coming through. as its on the stairs and with me having four children it needs to be some what hard wearing! i love the colour and would love to keep it, is there any way to make it stay on, please please help, jamie leigh sorry i don't know how to reply? the paint i have used is Johnston's Paint and i`ve had a look on there web site to see if they did my colour in a gloss but don't. the walls are free from damp but the paper is a spongy type. the paint stays on but as i have said it rubs off easily and the paint is supposed to wipe down? can i pain over with pva? just to add the paint is not falling off but can see it getting very tatty from passing on the stairs, the high up part should be ok as it wont be touched. i have used the same type paint in the kitchen on plastered walls and it is fine?

Open Question: Approx. how much does a can of paint cost? (to paint a room)?

i know that different brands and different kinds of paint can range vastly in price, but can you give me a general idea? haha craig, i like that you called me out on that. How big a tin? to be honest, i dont know how much a big tin holds, but i was talking about a normal size that people usually buy and from the answers, i would say a gallon. Is it a standard colour or a custom made one? standard What brand would you like? not sure, lets say benjamin moore. is that good paint? Where are you buying it from? ...benjamin moore store? Indoor or outdoor? i said it was a room... i thought people would be led to believe, from that, that it is indoor. Acrylic or water based? i was thinking acrylic. By the way, i didnt give that much info because i wanted a general price. but if someone can help me after i gave all that info that would be great.
