I've been searching for a storage cabinet under $70 with a similar dark finish but have been unable to do so - and a storage cabinet that would completely fit my needs has shown up at Wal-Mart, on sale for 40% off. However, it is a light oak finish. How can I paint this composite wood to give it a faux black wood finish? I want the faux grain appearance and I know I won't get it if I just bought black paint and painted it with a normal paintbrush. Open Question: I need help with a room theme...?I'm 13 and my (bed)room theme ideas are constantly changing. Now I think I'm into the 80's retro look... I have a juke box and a oddly shaped red chair... records and things along that line for the walls... but what else (paint color... flooring... curtains... bedding...etc.) could I use for a relatively small room that would give it a retro (80's) theme? Any ideas? Thanks ((: Open Question: Futon Problems!!! Renovation ideas?I have a broken futon, and its stuck in bed position. I can't take the arms off, because they go down to the ground. I want to disguise the arms so that I don't need a new futon, and so it looks like a bed. I need some ideas that don't involve any permanent difference, like sawing or anything like that. Open Question: How do I remove wallpaper boarder?!?I've tried Professional Gel, water & vinegar, water & downy, water and EVERYTHING, scoring it with a scoring tool, trying to peel it off with a tool, steaming it, Anything you can think of, I've tried.. and its STILL on 60% of the wall... Its took me a WEEK of scratching/scrubbing/digging my GUTS out to get 2 walls done... and there STILL two more.. I have to remove it TODAY within a couple hours for the painters... But Its like its WELDED to the wall... Also, it feels like it has a waxy coating on it.. so it wont let water/gel/anything soak in... How do I remove this!?
