I've aired it out; tried Febreeze spray; used scented dryer sheets; put bowls of vinegar and also potpourii inside, and yet it lingers. This store is willing to take it back for a credit, or even exchange it if I want. It matches my dining room table so I would want to exchange it and at least try another but what if the smell is on the new one also. I'm almost ready to have them pick it up and try a new one, but before I make that phone call, do you have any recommendations to permanently eliminate what is an odd but strong odor? Inside the drawers and cabinet I see particle board also. Thank you. I'm 13, and I need to organize decorate, etc my room. I'm kinda going with a light blue, light green, white theme, and it's kind of "old Fashioned" or some ppl call it country. I don't need any more furniture and i have like bedding and stuff. My furniture is hardwood, and like a dark brownish colour, and I don't mind it.
