Open Question: would this look tacky?I currently have pine wood trim that is stained a dark reddish-brown color.. the stairs, doors and cabinets are also stained that color. The cats have destroyed some of the soft pine wood tho. I cannot replace all the wood with a harder wood- I only plan to repair and replace what has been destroyed. But Im thinking of painting the trim. Would it look tacky to paint the trim and leave the doors, stairs and cabinets as the natural wood? Most of my walls are painted a light tan color, the living room and dining room are painted "apple crunch" its a pale peach color. What color should I paint the wood then? White? Offwhite? or go with a shade of brown that is similar to the wood? BTW please no suggestions of declawing, killing or getting rid of the cats- that has absolutly NOTHING to do with what Im asking. Im wanting decorating tips, not tips on dealing with my pets.
