Open Question: Is it possible to wallpaper with live moss and plants for a rainforest-themed bedroom?

My husband and I love the rainforest and we would like to bring the look to our bedroom in New Jersey? I thought about using live plants and moss on the walls, vines and shrubs, and maybe even bringing in some wildlife, say toads, gekkos, or something tropical and let them run around. I know this sounds a little over the top, but our lovemaking could use a little heat and I think this idea might just do the trick. Frederick thinks it might not work in our climate, but I think we could get some humidifiers to recreate the atmosphere we loved so much in the Amazon on our honeymoon. I would even like to figure out a way to make it rain a little when things heat up. What kind of furniture would hold up to this? Is this a dumb idea??

Open Question: what color should i paint my room/how should i redo it?

my favorite color is purple, but i don't know if i want my room purple... i wanted to do maybe 2 walls across from each other one color, then the other 2 a darker or lighter version of that color. i'm kinda more of an artsy person, if that helps. i was also wondering about new comforters and such... i know urbanoutfitters.com and delias.com have some cute sets...

Open Question: How to mount plywood above fireplace?

I'm moving into a new apartment soon, and while it does have a fireplace, it has no mantel to speak of. I got inspired by a picture in Better Homes and Gardens where they mounted a piece of plywood to the wall above the fireplace and used -it- for the mantel. I think the measurements are something like 6"H x 6' L x 6"D. How would I go about mounting that to the wall? Do I have to worry about hitting the flue? Would I need to use molly bolts if I can't find studs? How do I install molly bolts? Please help! It would be wonderful if I could figure this out. Thanks so much! It's a rental (sadface). From what I can see, the fireplace is made from cement, not bricks. Not sure if this changes anything...

Open Question: What do I need to consider when putting a kitchen in a basement?

I am looking at houses to buy and the houses that already have kitchens in the basement are way above our budget and usually way bigger than I need. But it's kind of an important thing for my family because I have really bad food allergies and I pretty much need a separate kitchen to cook my allergen free foods and then the one downstairs will be for the rest of my family to cook foods if they want to eat the things I'm allergic to. What do I need to consider when buying a house that already has a basement, either finished or unfinished. Is it tough to add a kitchen in the basement? Budget isn't a huge concern. We have a bigger budget than what we will probably spend. It's just that I prefer older homes and the newer ones (that have kitchens) have very small lots and are way bigger and more than we need. We can get a rural house with an acre or two of land that needs fixing up at a great price. So we can afford to finish a basement and put in a kitchen. That's not a big deal. How would I know what kind of drain that the basement would have or if it has a drain?

Open Question: How much can I anticipate paying for a Painter to paint my office?

I am trying to coordinate a Painter to paint a new office that my company will be moving into in a few weeks. How much could I expect to pay for an office space that is approximately 1600 sq. feet. 4 individual offices and one giant room with a partial partition wall with closets? All trimwork requires paint. Drop ceilings do not require paint. no doors. All White or similar. Minor stains on one portion of the office, nothing too major. Same goes for spackling. nothing out of the ordinary. Just want to get a feel for what to expect so that I can properly prepare my boss who will be paying for it.

Open Question: What color should I paint my walls?

I just bought a new house and bought this comforter set today http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=111106&RN=22. Its a Galleria Comforter set from bed bath and beyond. It has a lot of different colors in it but I'm not sure what to paint my bedroom walls. The red in it is more of a burgundy/pink color and I'm scared if I use it that color red in it, it will come out more of a pink color. Any suggestions? Also, I'm a behr paint fan. I have a huge room, its an older house and the closet doors are actually mirrors so I really want to paint it a dark color.
