Open Question: Waterproofing a paint job around bath/shower ?

My bathroom needed painting so I just slapped some water-based matte on it. Around the bath which doubles as a shower, it is slightly tiled but some of the wall is exposed to water splashes. The paint that was on there before seemed to be quite a smooth finish and held up pretty well against water, but this matte I've put on there obviously isn't going to especially seeing as it is water based. Is there any kind of translucent waterporoofing sealant or similar liquid I can paint over the existing paintwork or am I going to need to repaint that area with an oil-based paint?

Open Question: Armrest cloth covers for older lazyboy recliner ?

We inherited a small tan cloth covered (kind of a rough tweed cross stitch pattern) Lazyboy brand recliner - its still in very good shape - it came with 3 pieces of matching fabric cloth - one piece is rectangle shaped about 9" x 13" (matching cloth color/pattern) and the other 2 are very small long thinner matching cloth pieces measuring about 2 1/2" wide by 20" long - these 2 matching pieces appear to be cut for the top of the armrests to use as covers - but my question is this - what are you supposed to do with these pieces of cloth to put them on the chair securely? Were these intended to take to a fabric shop and have them made into covers somehow? Not sure why Lazyboy provided these cloth pieces with no real way to attach them - The headrest piece I guess we could use those small twisty/spiral pins to hold it on (not the best looking way to attach it) - the armrest pieces I am totally stumped though - I laid them on top of the arm rests and they fit nice, but they are simply laying there and would fall off as soon as your arm hit them - Do any fabric or furniture people out there know what was intended originally for these 3 extra pieces of matching chair fabric ? Thank you !!

Open Question: Redoing my room problems!!!?

I'm a preteen girl and I am planning on redoing my room. I am gonna paint it a pinkish color. I also would like to get a new desk. My desk right now is in my closet because my room isn't that big plus the fact that I have a queen bed. This time I want my desk out of the closet and near my windows but I don't know how its gonna work on top of my big bed...... Well anyways can you tell me some ideas or thoughts of how I should do my room and where to buy the things. Thx :)

I have wood floor in my kitchen. Am looking into the Vortex floor steamer. The water heats to 212 degrees. Will this temperature do damage to the wood? Also have a composite floor in another area and have the same concern on this floor.
