Open Question: Should I invest in good dishes or just get cheap ones for now and get good ones later?

I've fallen in love with this place setting. It runs about $50 for a single 4-piece place setting and is very heavy duty porcelain. I'm just about to move out and get my own place. Should I invest in these dishes or just buy a cheap set that's $50 for 4 4-piece place settings? Currently I'm living with a roommate and we use her dishes. The only dishes I have are plastic non-microwave safe dishes from college.

Open Question: How do you get dried paint off the foam on handlebars?

I have a work light that I used for painting, but noticed that I got some paint onto the foam that covers the handles of the light (I probably had some on my hands when I moved it into another room). Any ideas for what will clean it up?

Open Question: I want my bedroom to have an Old Hollywood Glamour theme, but need help!?

So I am 16 and always want to change little details. So nothing can be really permanent. -My room color is yellow (thats not changing unless I pay for new paint!) Any Hollywood-esque colors? -I have two desks. One is glass and one is wooden. the wooden one is used as a table to have crap on it all the time (but it organized crap!) -I have gold curtains that separate the room in half sort of. One side there is my bed and wooden desk and on the other side is my glass desk and in-wall closet. I have space for a couch and want something with an antique feel. -My closet has deep red drapes. Basically I am looking for: -Good natural looking lighting (meaning nothing too harsh) that has a Hollywood feel. -Any wall decals -And other ideas to make my room more 1940's Hollywood. Thanks in advance! renee :)

Open Question: Can you put nails in silk wallpaper without damaging the wall covering material?

I just bought a house. Two rooms have silk wallpaper. I noticed the former owners did not have any nail holes in those walls whatsoever. I wonder if the silk would run or be ruined if I tried to hang a picture on those walls. Does anyone have silk wall coverings on your wall? Can you hang pictures? If so, what did you use to hang them with?

Open Question: My Malibu low voltage lighting will not turn on?

Doesn't seem to be getting power from the outlet to the transformer. Nothing wrong with the 120 volt outlet. No timer movement, so hum, no lighting. Brand new system. Possible solutions?
