Open Question: Using Exterior paint Inside?

I'm planning on painting my kitchen within the next couple weeks. When I told my friend I wanted to paint it yellow, she said she had 5 gallons of EXTERIOR paint I could have, no charge. Her and her husband do a LOT of remodeling, to the point of doing their own home addition, and she said it wouldn't matter that its Exterior paint. I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but is that really true? If I use the exterior paint, will it make it difficult to repaint it down the road? (like using flat over latex ?) Any thoughts or experience with this?

Open Question: How can I get my living room to smell fresh?

I have noticed that as soon as I walk into my house, it is not fresh like I would like it to be. My kitchen is basically connected with my living room in the apartment. I don't open windows yet because it's still chilly. I have to be careful with using aerosols because I have 2 parakeets in the living room. I sweep, vacuum, clean the bird cage, & dust at least 2-3x a week. I like a bigger size garbage can that can't fit under the sink. I've been trying to put any garlic, onion, or raw meat that I throw away into tied plastic grocery bags. I don't know what else I can do or try?

Open Question: What is best to use to cover the windows of your home?

I am needing a solution to cover the windows in our living room to protect us from view of outside. We also have a dog that is quite large so using standard blinds or shades does not work for he tears them apart. We replaced them already once. So i was thinking something like the foil you get around Christmas time to cover the door as some people wrap it to look like a present. But i cant think of the name of it. Or if you have any other good ideas please help!
