Open Question: What is the most durable and affordable wood flooring and finish when you have dogs?I want to install wood flooring in my now carpeted living room. I have 2 dogs with rather long nails (even when they are freshly cut they still click clack on the floor). The dogs have ruined the berber carpet just by walking on it--the threads are all pulled up. I want wood flooring but many have told me that the dogs will just ruin the finish. Can someone with experience let me know what has worked for them and their pets? I am looking for the most affordable option that will withstand the abuse! I would prefer not to use a laminate that looks like wood like Pergo--but if it's the only thing that will work, I will. Open Question: What is this coating on my metal bed?I have a metal bed that has a brownish gray coating over the metal(it looks like brass underneath. In some spots this coating is rubbing off.
