Open Question: Christmas Lights? Who would be selling them at this time of the year?I'm having a party tonight, and I've searched all over town. We don't have a walmart, I tried target, and they don't keep christmas items in stock at the back. I'm really surprised that I haven't found any green St. Patrick's Day lights, you'd think since people have lights up on halloween and July 4th now, there would be lights for St. Patrick's Day. Open Question: Soundproofing against traffic noise?I just bought an apartment which is near the main road. I would like to know which is the easiest and cheapest way to reduce the traffic noise. I do not want to reduce the noise completely, but just reduce it enough so that I can have a good sleep at night. Building a wall or planting trees is not possible, as the area around is not within my control. Also, are there any contractors in Singapore that can help me to do this? Do I need to do anything to the wall? If I change to double glaze windows, this means that I need to close the windows, resulting in the room becoming very warm. In my room, I was going to have 3 walls white, and the feature wall with a black and white damask wallpaper. Open Question: Painting wall with picture rail?Hi there, I am redecorating my bedroom and I am going to repaint my walls. My issue is that My walls have a picture rail on them about 5/6th of the way up the wall, but what I wanted to do was to paint the whole wall one standard colour like in this picture: http://img.hgtv.com/HGTV/2007/02/14/sassaman_bedroom_lg.jpg/bmi_orig_img/sassaman_bedroom_lg.jpg It was suggested that I do not remove the picture rail since it has been there for so long and would mean re-plastering the wall which I do not have the time to do. The two options I have been suggested thus far have been to either: 1. Paint the whole wall in the colour of my choice (matt) and take the same colour but in eggshell and paint the picture rail. 2. Paint the wall in my colour of choice (matt) UP TO the picture rail, and then the picture rail would be painted the same colour as the ceiling & wall above it but in eggshell. Would suggestion 1 look good? and which would you guys suggest is the best option? I want silk but everytime i check ebay it says "silk satin". Is silk the same as satin or what? I want the best of the best so is there such a thing as silk only blankets or is it all mixed?
