Tile or carpet?I am doing some remodeling in my home and I want to tile the front entry way and lay new carpet throughout. Is it best to do carpet first then the ceramic tile or vice versa? I thought I could use a faux finish and change it some. I really don't want the expense of repainting. I thought maybe sponging it would change it enough. What would be good complimentary colors to try? I've considered copper and ivory glazes on top of the light peach. would this work? Open Question: My wife and I are remodeling our bathroom and have a "lighting" question.?We bought a vanity and a mirror and were hoping to put a 3 or 4 vanity light above the mirror. But we want to make sure we're not to close to the ceiling. The vanity is 34 inches high, the mirror is 35 inches. So allowing for maybe a 3 inch space between the vanity and mirror gets us to exactly 6 feet (72 inches). Now we have 8 ft ceilings. The light fixture is approx 7 inches wide - so in my estimation the top of light fixture will be approx 1 ft from the ceiling. Is that too close? Open Question: Do I remove the toilet to install ceramic tile also? It seem that the weight of the toilet will crack the tile?Open Question: What color should I paint my living room?I need to paint my living room walls, they are currently white and the base boards are like an off white and I hate it. Problem is my wife likes it white, so I am trying to come up with a light color scheme like a light grey and white mouldings but I am not all that good with color.
