Open Question: Which is best for a house? white wash + emulsion paints or complete tiles on the wall?I have newly built a house. Now its the time for wall painting, whitewashing. My friends use to say instead of whitewashing and wall painting if we choose colorful tiles for the whole wall upto roof in four sides of the wall then it is cheap comparing to wall painting cost. And there is no quarterly maintenance too. For example if we take a HALL size of 20 x20 feets the roof height is 10 feets. so the total wall is EAST - 200 Sq.ft WEST - 200 Sq.ft NORTH - 200 Sq.ft SOUTH - 200 Sq.ft. So the total wall to be painted or tile fixing have to be undertaken for 800 square feets. The roof will not be tiled. because its just white washing. Now the question is which is best painting or wall tiles? Please consider the following points. Wall painting needs ( 3 coating of Matty for leveling + 1 coating of Primer + 1 coat of emulsion paints) Wall tiles are ( just tiles + tiles pasting cement or adhesive) 1. Cost wise which is cheap? 2. Durability and life wise which is best? 3. What are the merits of both tasks? 4. What are the demerits of both tasks? Brilliant Advice appreciated.
