Open Question: Harlequin diamonds, sponging or ragging?

I've painted The two largest walls in my room a light sage green, then painted harlequin diamonds that are the height of the wall, 8' and about 3.5' wide in an almond/cocoa brown. The smaller walls are a darker green. It looks great but the diamonds look dull. I grabbed a darker brown and started sponge painting one, just one color so far but I'm now wondering about ragging. I'm trying to get this done quickly because my husband is coming home from overseas shortly and I can only paint after the little ones are asleep. My goal is to finish it in two nights. Which will work best? I'm seriously considering the ragging and sponging rollers so I'm more concerned with which of those would work well. I plan on ragging or sponging on, not off. If I have to use a glaze mixed with the paint I can but if there is a way not to, Id prefer it. I can't actually add much texture as I'll have to paint over this when I move.
