You walk into the living room and then have a choice to go up to the main living space (kitchen, baths, and bedrooms) or go down to the finished basement and laundry. We have a big empty space over the downstairs entrance. It comes from the living room wall to the kitchen. We have no idea what to do with it. If we do something like cabinets the backs will be seen from the front door but if we do something in the living room it will be seen in the kitchen. WE think they had a tv up there but we do not have the money for that. Any ideas? I want to know if I do it my prefered way/syle (white wash), would it decrease in value?
