Open Question: Is there any type of surface I can use to put over woodwork on garage?

I have a detached garage which is constructed from concrete block and has a long strip of wood trim at the top right below the roof. We had some carpenter ants in the garage and apparently the wood peckers came and hammered at the trim to get the ants so now it's damaged. This isn't my garage, but the damage looks a lot like this: http://www.homeadditionplus.com/images/home_pics/Fascia_Board_Woodpecker_Damage.jpg The exterminator sprayed for carpenter ants and I asked him how much he thought it would cost to have a handyman replace the boards. He said I could do that, but it would be cheaper to just patch the holes and repaint. He said there's no structural damage, so it's just about repairing cosmetic damage. I went out there and looked and it looks like a lot of work to cover up all the holes individually. Are there any better options? If I don't have to hire someone, it would be much better. I was just thinking maybe there was something, like a type of sheeting that I could nail up in front of it and paint to cover everything up. Any other ideas?

Open Question: Question about cleaning the bathroom?

Today I entered the bathroom while my mom was cleaning it and I was devastated to see she uses the same sponge inside the toilet and in the bathroom sink!!! I had a seizure because I never thought she would do that, and also I had previously asked her and she said she doesn't. In my college home I have 3 different sponges: 1 for the sink, 1 for the toilet and 1 for the bathtub. That way I feel hygienic. I really hate my mom for that now and I wanna leave this house just for that. I can't believe that the place we take a sh*t and the place we wash our face has been mixed up. She says I'm overreacting and that everybody does that. She also says that the chlorine in the sponge kills everything. What do you think!?!??! Please include gender, age and area.

Open Question: Installed wrong carpet pad... What to do?

We had our house carpeted. The man at the store told us we should get the 7/16 10lbs pad since it would make the carpet last twice as long. We ordered that pad... paperwork says that pad... They installed a 3/8 (I measured) I don't know how many lbs pad. We talked to the man and he sent someone out... The guy looked at it and said it was definitely a 10 lbs pad... We called the man again and he said it was actually a 8lbs pad, but was a better quality than the 10lbs pad, but if we really wanted, they would reinstall the 10 lbs pad. So what do I believe??? We got the carpet before purchasing furniture and now they will have to move our new furniture. Also, I don't know if I like the idea of re-stretching and re-seaming new carpet. And they just wasted another day. So what should I have them do? What is reasonable? I have thought of different scenarios: 1. Leave as is... refund pad and 1/2 carpet. 2. Replace everything. I probably wouldn't make such a big deal if they hadn't lied to me. We don't even really know that it's an 8 lbs pad that is installed... That is just what they said... It could be the 6 lbs, which is free with carpet purchase!

Open Question: Is it possible to match 2 white sofas with chocolate brown leather recliners?

With a new house to decorate, I'd like to buy 2 white sofas to face each other with 2 chairs at one end, 2 poufs at the opposite end. Sadly, my boyfriend wants those chairs to be chocolate brown leather recliners. Is it possible to make chocolate (non-puffy/clean-line) recliners work?

Open Question: What would you do with 20,000 sq. ft. of living space?

My husband is working in a 20,000 square foot home, and it got me wondering what I'd do with that much space in my house. An indoor bowling lane? A dining hall that seats 100? Private movie theater? How would you use up all that room?
