Open Question: Electrical Tape on Aluminum Furniture? and more... Open Question: Electrical Tape on Aluminum Furniture?I have a loft bed and desk both made from aluminum. The problem is the rest of my furniture is black and dark wood. The blue-gray metal sticks out like a sore thumb. I love the furniture just not the color of the metal and I really don't want to go through the process of disassembling it, carrying it downstairs, painting it, waiting for it to dry and reassembling it. So I got the idea to cover the entire surface with black electrical tape. Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea? Open Question: How to find certain clocks?I got "pampered", over the last couple of years, with using a digital clock, which had jumbo digits, for the time, as well as listing the day, date, and temperature. I could only see most of the information, from up close, but the time digits could be viewed, in their red light, from across the room. I bought this unit at Walmart, yet, when I looked for a replacement, in March, after my old clock wore out, I found that neither Walmart, nor its .com, carry this unit, anylonger. Since I made the mistake of buying a La Crosse "auto-set" (what a crock), projection clock, with a projector which does not work, I am, now, looking for a clock similar to my old clock. I dont mind setting the functions, manually. I just wonder WHERE, and by what NAME, I should use in searching for a quality clock, which has JUMBO, digits (red,blue,green, color. It doesn't matter which color the digits are, so long as easily read), for the time. If I could find a clock, with day/date, and temperature on the display, as well, that would be excellent. The clock I bought, back in 2007 (?) sold for $14.95. Any suggestions on where to find a clock (no radios, etc,necessary), which I can set on a shelf? Open Question: How to locate ceiling joist under a popcorn ceiling texture?I want to install some brackets and need to anchor them to the joists. I have that stupid sprayed on popcorn texture stuff on the ceilings so using my stud finder is out of the question. Just which color do you like better? I'm leaning towards blue, but I'm not sure. The green color might be a more versatile choice. These will be my first set of dishes as I'm moving out for the first time. Open Question: How to update a peach and sage green decor?My middle-aged mom put quite a lot of money into decorating her home, and the last updates were made around 1998. Needless to say, it looks very "90s" (and almost "grandmotherly" in a derogatory sense) at this point. I know she is frustrated with the dated and cluttered look, but she's now on disability and there is no extra money to do major updates such as strip the wallpaper and paint, rip out the stained (trust me, we've tried steaming them) cream carpeting and install dark laminate, etc. She has somewhat of a "rustic western" look going on, and I think that would be lovely to work off of.
