Open Question: Help for a 70's kitchen!!!?i want to spruce up my kitchen but cannot afford new counters or cabinets. problem is i have that typical mustard color laminate countertops. what color can i paint the room, or what color flooring can i change to make the kitchen look nicer? should i take the retro look and run with it? or try to modernize it? any advice please?! Open Question: how much is my mattress worth?It is a serta perfect sleeper ocean moon pillow top mattress with box and standard hollywood frame. It is two years old and is in Absolute perfect condition. how much could i ask a friend for this mattress or how much could i ask for it on craigslist. Is it common for customers to have to clean up paint after a job?I wouldn't have thought that it was acceptable for painters to leave paint splashes in someone's home. They have not finished the job, they're coming back, and I didn't see them until after they'd left. There was quite a few things that I had to clean. They had sheets down on the floor, and on the worktop, but no masking tape was used. So, after they'd left, I had to clean all my worktops (lots of little splashes of paint all around the edge next to the wall) as well as clean paint off light switches and around the edge of my floor. Is it difficult to paint in a furnished house? I wouldn't have thought so with some careful preparation and masking tape. To me it just looks like they're one of the many, many building companies who just want to get a job finished as quickly as possible and take no pride in their work. Another question for any tradesmen. Does your quality of work depend on which customer you have (i.e. if they seem like an easy going person, a single female etc)? Open Question: Does Wood Colored Vinyl Sheet Flooring Look Cheap?At first we were considering traditional laminate flooring, then vinyl plank flooring. However, I read many reviews that these products are easily damaged by pet accidents and water bowl spills. So we are considering the vinyl sheet flooring, installed by Home Depot. But the vinyl sheet flooring looks like a big rubber mat to me in the store on those big rolls. Once it is installed, does it look OK? I know it won't look as good as the other alternatives, but how bad is it? We are using it in a kitchen + family room, about 350 Sq Ft. We have two small dogs and one medium dog. Open Question: Where can I find a contemporary reasonably priced 6 piece dining set?I would like a rectangular medium to dark wood dining table (contemporary/simple lines) with upholstered parsons chairs. Any ideas...links to listings? It can be new or gently used. Open Question: What Are Cheap Party Decorations?We need some decoration for a party which is gonna be tomorrow! so as u can see, the decorations should be cheap and easy to find.
