Open Question: Scraping ceiling paint & using exterior paint inside?

In my shower room the paint is flaking from the ceiling. I would like to remove this and paint over. The walls are also flaking in some places. I have been told by a painter I know I can use pliolite masonry paint to paint both the ceiling and walls after removing as much of the paint as possible. My question is a) what is best to use to try and remove all the flaking paint? b) is it safe to use the pliolite masonry paint in the shower room? Hmm, Bob I have no idea where you get that idea from as I have never asked a question here before. You care to maybe give me answers or a link to the question I supposedly asked?
