Open Question: Is New England White Pine better than Heart Pine for flooring?

I need to replace the pine floors in my house and found some unfinished options in either New England White Pine or Heart Pine. Is there a difference in durability/quality? The white pine is listed at 99 cents per square foot and the heart is $2.79. Obviously, I'd like to use white pine if there's no difference between the two.
