Open Question: Questions about interior painting?

So I'm 18, live in AR, I just painted the interior of my girlfriend's mom's house for her, did a really good job, she said I should start doing that for other people, that I could probably make some good money off it. So I looked it up and all I find is stuff saying that you have to have a license, liability insurance, worker's comp insurance, blah blah.. is it really that complicated just to paint the inside of people's houses?

Open Question: What would be a good color to paint my walls with this comforter?

Some of the reviews in the website say it is a little grayer than it looks in the picture. Also, I was thinking about maybe painting one wall and leaving the others white bc it is in an apartment so I'll have to repaint the wall white before I move out, plus I want to keep the room looking bright Thank you for your help!

Open Question: will house paint work for an indoor mural?

I'm looking for the most affordable solution to painting a wall mural. It's a small room that I'm painting but I still have a very small budget. It's a jungle theme so I was wondering if you could use a solvent, like mineral spirits, to thin the paint and have it still look nice-like watercolor almost? Will this work with house-paint our will I have to invest in some acrylics? I was also just thinking about purchasing only the primary colors so I could mix the colors I need, does house-paint mix very well? Sorry if these questions seem silly, but I've never used interior paint as a medium before.

Open Question: decorating - stripping backing paper from a wall?

A decorating question - I have stripped the "blown vinyl" wallpaper off the wall which came off really easy but it has left behind patches of thin backing paper, I suppose that I could remove it by soaking it with warm water but as I am replacing it with more padded blown vinyl is there any need to go to the trouble of removing the backing paper - can I just leave it up and put the new paper on top of it ?

Open Question: Decorating tips for a tween girl bedroom?

I am not a girly girl I am pretty much a tomboy but I don't want a sports room. My room will be kinda girly but not too much because I want something I'll like for a long time, with objects I can change easily as I age. I have a pretty small room. I have a small closet but big enough. I have 1 dresser a bed a t.v. and a desk I will paint those objects white I THINK (not the t.v) I currently have a carolina blue room (sky blueish) I love the color but I think its time for a change. I was thinking a light purple and light green for the walls. With purple as my main color and green trim and my door and window frame green. (I have one normal sized window.) OR 2 purple walls opposite each other and 2 green walls opposite each other. (Which one?????) I have a twin bed but it is real babyish it is plain wood but at the end has this UGLY horse running. So I am thinking of seeing if my mom will sell my bed and get a new plain WHITE WOOD bed. OR paint that one, but what about the horse? BUT I need yalls help. Will the coloring i mentioned look right or be cute or what? What kind of accesories can I decorate with to give it a teenage feel but not really girly. I have a real small budget so I just want to know what makes good decorative peices I can change as I get older. (I am between 11-14 dont want to say exact age though) So any ideas llinks to sites with cute not too girly stuff would also be helpful! Thanks in advance! PLEASE HELP! Any advice is useful.

Open Question: When placing an area rub over carpeting, how do I make two carpets that butt together look smooth for the rug?

The problems is after only a couple weeks of wear on the rug, a deep crease begins to show on the run, created from the small gap between the two carpets that butt together below the rug. I've seen a device sold in catalogs but can't find it now. It's a plastic strip in the shape of a "T" about 6 inches wide that goes over the entire seam where the two carpets join together, then the leg of the "T" drops down between the two abutting carpets. This creates a perfectly smooth surface for the area rug to lay over. But I can't find this "T" strip and have searched the net for weeks. Please help. Thank you, Barbie :)
