Open Question: what can you put in my bedroom that will make it look cool.?Im 14 i just moved house and i have pretty much nothing in my room.I need some things i could put in it to make it look cool. Open Question: Can I substitue lacquer thinner with paint thinner to clean a brush?I am using Minwax Lacquer wood finish on a bathroom door. I am applying it with a mid quality "All Paints & Finishes" type brush. I'm not using natural bristle as Minwax suggests; they're too pricey for this project. The Minwax container says to use lacquer thinner for brush clean up. Can I use the "Safer" Paint Thinner that I already have and still get this brush clean? Supposedly more environmentally friendly than regular thinner. Open Question: What do you guys do to be safe while painting tall houses? At what height would you say forget a ladder and use scaffolding? Any tricks for ladder stability? Ever have a extending ladder snap? What kind of safety harness is really safe for being on the roof? My 2 story house I would guess is 26 feet up or so at the peaks. Im having some doubts about being able to do this myself, Im plain scared when up that high...Im trying to do the prep work of the top trim, at some points along the corners how it sticks out I dont feel I can reach them safely. And without a harness I wont attempt it from the top, maybe 20 years ago but not now. I got a 20 foot extending ladder and its not going to be long enough at points, but before I go for a taller ladder Im just thinking I may rent some scaffolding if I can find some reasonable ones that wont be more hassle then good. Kind of bummed, thought I could do this myself, but I dont feel Im being so safe. My spider sense is tingling. Can someone help w/ the preserving supplies I need?My grandmother recently passed away, and I would like to make a mosaic out of one of her old puzzles. I know the steps regarding tile mosaics, but would like to place a type of lacquer over the puzzle pieces before spreading the grout to help protect and preserve them. Any help with this would be great. More Recent Articles |
