Open Question: Help with decorating a Teen room?

Hey guys, I would really like to re-decorate my bedroom. I'm finding it quite hard since I can't buy anymore furniture. My room has a queen size bed which takes up most of the space. I also have a desk with just my fish tank and homework on it and then a table which has my TV play station etc. I also have a chest of draws (tallboy) in the corner with my makeup and mirror on in. I have my acoustic guitars in my room which make it have a little beach laid back feel, and i really like that. But my rooms purple (wish it was blue atm). I tried also making a collage of photos on my door, which looks good atm, but anymore ideas on how to get that beach/ surfer feel to it. Or if you have any cool and stylish to rage ideas, or another decorating ideas would help thanks 

Open Question: What are a few coordinating colors for an open kitchen and living room space?

My kitchen isn't too big, but it isn't too small. We are redoing most of it and it will have light oak wood floors, white cabinets, white appliances and an undecided counter top color. I am planning on painting the wall in the living room that follows the front door leading into the hallway one color and painting the opposite color of the living room a different color. The carpet in the living room will be a chocolate brown. Then in the kitchen I am still undecided. I am color shy and need some advice. Please only serious answers! Thanks! :)

Open Question: Why do they still make and sell Glidden paint if it's garbage?

It's a well-known fact that Glidden paint is total garbage, very watery, and doesn't cover well at all. How can the company still stay in business selling crap like that, especially when there are many other far-superior brands available?

Open Question: should a glazed ceramic tile have sealant?

I had my bathroom completely demo-ed 9 months ago....turns out, by a crappy contractor!! Anyway, I had vitreous/glazed ceramic tiles installed with an almost black grout. The water after showering, never sits on top. So I assume it is being absorbed. Should my tiles and grout have been sealed? If so, is it too late?? The grout is sanded and I have no idea what kind of backing was used!! I trusted they would do a professional job...for the cost!!!
